Hermitage Museum (Winter Palace) Guided Tour
State Museum of the Defense and Blockade of Leningrad
Today we offer a programme based around two very different museums. They don’t come much more famous than the Winter Palace at the Hermitage, with its incredible collection of works of art including everything from Leonardo da Vinci to the French Impressionists. Alongside world-renowned paintings sit treasured icons, antique coins and exquisite jewellery which once belonged to the Tsar. The State Museum of the Defense and Blockade of Leningrad is tiny by comparison but its subject matter makes this compelling viewing. Dedicated to the city's historical siege and defence of Leningrad during the Second World War, moving displays show the famine-ravaged city and the heroic efforts made to somehow get food in from beyond the blockade. More than one million people died during the blockade. Their sacrifice and the extraordinary endurance of the survivors remains a source of both immense pride and profound sorrow.

Created in 1919 by prominent figures in the Bolshevik Party members of the narodnik (populist) movement and representatives of the intelligentsia it was the first museum in the country to engage with historical and revolutionary issues. To this day it remains a fascinating collection and our tour will help you understand how modern Russia has evolved.

We are very happy to have served thousands of happy customers who travelled with us.
We've just returned from my trip and would like to say thank you for a marvellous experience. From the visa application through to the final airport transfer the tour was very well organised. As someone who is not widely travelled but has always wanted to visit Russia, I couldn't recommend GoRussia more highly. Thank you again for a great trip.
All transfers and pickups were done on time. The guides were very helpful when required.
What was so good about this trip and how Go Russia was different from other companies was that you use local guides only and there is no tour leader. This gave us a lot more free time to do what ever we wanted, eat where we wanted and yet still meet other travellers making use of the same local guide.
Well organised, good itinerary, excellent and friendly tour guides.
I thought the guides were informative. I learned a lot about Russia. I am glad I went to Russia to see it for myself.
The guides were extremely knowledgeable, especially Natasha is Saint Petersburg.
Overall we had a very good experience. Everything was very efficiently organised. Guides and drivers were friendly and helpful.
The whole holiday went very smoothly. The guides and tours were excellent. The Katerina City Hotel in Moscow was good. The Petro Palace Hotel in St Petersburg was very good and the half board dinner arrangement at the Gosti Restaurant was of a startlingly high standard.
The tours were fantastic, the guides Helen (Moscow) and Tatiana (St Petersburg) were brilliant always on time and very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The drivers were great . We had no problems and really enjoyed ourselves in 2 amazing cities. Everyone in the hotels , bars and shops was helpful even with the language barrier.
All Transfers were made on time and well done. Guides were great especially Paulina in Saint Petersburg. All in all a great trip and you guys did a great job.
