Helicopter MI-8
The MI-8 helicopter is a medium sized multi-purpose, double-turbine helicopter. The MI-8 has the largest-scale mass production of any type of helicopter in the world. The first MI-8 was constructed at the Moscow aircraft plant named after M.L.Mil at the beginning of the 1960s.
MI-8 helicopters are now used by more than 50 countries, including India, China and Iran. MI-8s can operate both for civil and military purposes. There are more than 30 modified versions of the MI-8, including operating as a gunship. Special MI-8 helicopters were designed for Russian leaders Boris Yeltsin, Mikhail Gorbachev and Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The MI-8 can hold up to twenty-eight passengers at a time.
